With the up coming produsage assignment that I am starting this week, I am returning to the blog’s initial purpose, open education resources. When this all began, I planned on reviewing different tools each week as I prepared to implement OER activities into my fall classes. Here we are 10 weeks later, and I simply haven’t had the time. The next assignment gives me a way back in.

I plan on designing an OER-based activity for my produsage assignment. It will allow me to test the activity design I have been considering for my programming class. In doing so, I will look at a few OER tools this week and write about them in my blog. I hope to find an easy-to-use tool that will not complicate my students’ experience.

If you have any suggestions for an OER book authoring tool, please let me know!

  1. Hi Vanessa,
I’m currently working on CC and how to attribute them in my other course at FSU, fun coincidence ;-).
I found these resources on OER, I hope they can help:
    – Empowering College Students to be OER Creators and Curators: https://www.facultyfocus.com/articles/course-design-ideas/empowering-college-students-to-be-oer-creators-and-curators/
    – Guidelines for open educational resources (OER) in higher education: https://unesdoc.unesco.org/ark:/48223/pf0000213605 (I found the sections for academic staff and student bodies pretty useful)
    – Tools and Techniques for Creating OER: https://press.rebus.community/oerstarterkitpm/chapter/chapter-17-tools-and-techniques-for-creating-oer/
