As I prepared for the produsage assignment, deciding between the instructional design and performance support options was difficult. I have so many ideas about what to do, and all of them work around the produsage activities I am already planning for the coming school year. I have changed my mind about what activity to do about five times in the past week.

I am currently designing a community of practice at my university around coding and creativity. It’s all about integrating aspects of coding or computing into non-computing fields. This class has given me even more ideas on how to promote this idea using social media.

Then there are the OER activities I am planning. I am revamping my Fundamentals of Programming class to include the creation of an OER supplemental textbook. Students will write a textbook that we will edit and add to each semester. It’s an opportunity for them to research and gain a deeper understanding of the topic we are learning and create a resource for future students.

Both of these and a few more instructional design ideas I have floating about my head seem like good options. Alas, I must decide! I am excited about both, so choosing one is difficult.
